problem

using matrix emojis for voting has several issues: - it's hard to retain records of voting - easy double counting since collectives can have multiple delegates - matrix clients vary in how bad they are with seeing reactions

resolution

loomio has been suggested and regarded as a good alternative for voting. We have a recipe for it and it's maintained by members of rtm.

I propose a) we migrate to using loomio for voting without a change to voting rules.

in the spirit of mutual aid, self-reliance, and cooperativism, I also propose b) we hire a federation member to self-host and manage the loomio instance for us with the option to waive their dues in exchange.
